While I'm waiting with hardly any patiance for the rules to be posted... Here are battling rules:
In General
Each Pokémon has three dodges per ten posts in a battle.
Battles are based purely on action and reaction. Please try to keep to one physical attack a post. i.e.;
Andromenda dodged the Nidoran's Tackle nimbly, wheeling around to use Ember.
Nidoran was singed by the Ember, giving a pained cry. Grudgingly, she turned and produced Poison Sting.
Now, if Anna were to use Smokescreen and Ember, it wouldn't count. The reason you are preferred to use one attack a post is because its difficult to RP. i.e.;
Andromenda used Tackle against Nidoran, then wheeled and used Ember.
Now, that's harder to reply to. And also, try not to jump ahead, like respond and then running away. Its hard to keep up, because your opponent may want to squeeze in a response before you take off.
Be mindful of Abilities. They can affect battle dramatically. For instance, a Cyndaquil's ability is Blaze. If Anna was near fainting, her fire's power would increase strongly, and could win her the battle. A female Nidoran's abilities are Poison Point and Rivalry. A mod should be monitoring the fight, and can pop in and say something like;
Event!
Upon Tackling, Andromenda has been hit with with the ability Poison Point and is now poisoned!
And Rivalry means the attack is increased if the opponent is the same gender, which Andromenda is, so the Nidoran's attack would be even stronger.
Levels DO mean something. If your opponent is many levels weaker than you, your attacks will not be stronger, but will effect them more, vice versa.
Look. Your Pokémon are psychic (well... most aren't). They can't be super-smart and "suspect" the opponent's next move all the time. That's not fair and not likely.
Double Battles
In the video games, your usual battle strategies usually vary between two choices; set each Pokémon on different opponents, or use both to gang up on one. The same is possible here. Your, say, Phanphy can assist your Noctowl if you want every once and a while. However, your partern Pokémon can't always appear from anywhere to save your opposite Pokémon. If one of your Pokémon saves the other one, it counts towards the saved one's dodges.
